Harnessing a culture of learning by championing internal talent
One week on from the CLO Exchange in Florida, the OBRIZUM team are reflecting on the key moments from their time in the Sunshine State.
Without a doubt, the most standout moments for OBRIZUM were the conversations held with representatives from some of the largest brands across the world, including American Express, The Coca Cola Company, Humana, Stanley Black and Decker, Citi Bank, United States Space Force, Estee Lauder Companies, Salesforce, MetLife, and Synchrony Bank.
The three days were packed with insightful discussions and brilliant networking opportunities for the corporate learning community. It provided the perfect platform to discuss blueprints for robust learning strategies for 2024, and how organizations can align L&D initiatives with wider business goals.
Nurturing the talent from within
The focus of this year’s Exchange was ‘Unlocking Human Potential’. In her keynote speech, the VP, Global Learning at Citi, Joelle Joseph, encouraged a connected culture with learning to achieve one consistent ecosystem across employee experience.
Here are some of the key takeaways that the OBRIZUM team captured:
- Make sure you’re getting the most out of the talent and skills already available in your business. It’s a time for upskilling and reskilling internal talent, especially as hiring remains at a relatively low level.
- A strong appetite for being able to update learning courses efficiently in order to keep them relevant. It’s important to be able to do so in real-time and with minimal manual effort.
- Using AI to build careers and map skills for the future. Organizations want to champion their workforces and provide them with the right tools to shape their own learning pathways.
The conversation around AI also covered the existing and future use cases of open Generative AI models, and how this technology is likely to shape the corporate learning space. Watch out for OBRIZUM’s upcoming blog on the evolution of generative AI models in the corporate learning space, one year on from the launch of ChatGPT.
